Retrospective exhibition on the occasion of the Spanish National Design Award 2024 by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, as well as the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the creation of his studio. An exhibition that shows his creative approach and his design processes through a selection of almost a hundred of his works and projects in various fields.
Curated by design journalist Tachy Mora, ‘Héctor Serrano: The journey in between. 25 years connecting’ brings together a selection of his most significant works in multiple fields, offering a panoramic view of the different creative paths he follows and the results he achieves with his peculiar gaze.
Héctor Serrano’s designs are characterised by their original ability to connect with people, often appealing with great sensitivity, to the memory we have of objects or our surroundings. In his case, the most interesting thing is that this approach is never done from a nostalgic position, but with an innovative proposal.
The exhibition seeks to transmit what his approach and design processes consist of, in which the journey he makes between the starting point and the result is of great relevance, and where “the unexpected ingredient” often intervenes. That spark that characterises his proposals and which can appeal to the user in a fun and creative way in an immediate way, or manifest itself in a not so obvious way at the level of innovation, research or sustainability.
